Ryan is pursuing his dreams, attending university, and enjoying his social life.
Prior to the NDIS, Ryan received very limited state government funding and spent most days at home in isolation. Since being approved for the NDIS, Ryan now has the support in place to pursue his dreams, and with that, a greater sense of control over his life. “NDIS has opened up a whole new world for me”, says Ryan.
Whilst originally plan-managed, Ryan and his mother Kerrie spoke with Arabon Care to see if there was a better way to manage the funding and minimise the administrative fees. Arabon Care was able to work with Ryan and Kerrie to receive greater value for money and nearly double the support hours for Ryan.
Ryan has Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, and these extra support hours have enabled Ryan to have around-the-clock support for practical tasks as well as assistance getting to university and various extracurricular activities. Arabon Care helped Ryan employ his latest support worker, making the process smooth and seamless for all involved.
Ryan says “I have recommended Arabon Care to many others and will continue to do so. All the staff are extremely helpful and nothing is too much for them. They let you do as much or as little of the employing as you are comfortable with and make each step a breeze. Importantly, Arabon Care are genuinely there for you.”
Ryan is now happily attending university and enjoying the social scene at pubs and clubs.
